Black Kra - Shy or Black Ginseng (Kaempferia parviflora)
Features Black ginseng is a short-lived herbaceous plant with dark-purple, ginger- like underground stems called rhizomes. Round- or oval-shaped leaves sprout from the rhizome. Bracts enclose flower clusters in whose midst comprise dark - purple flowers.
Properties Back ginseng rhizomes are Thai herbs believed to enhance libido, hence they are commonly referred to as "Thai Ginseng." Proven therapeutic properties are : to supplement energy, to increase sexuality, to treat male impotence, to fortify the heart, to counter bodily aches and pains, to alleviate pains of the joints, to use as a diuretic or carminative, and to purge various toxins from the body.
Moreover, black ginseng is believed to be an elixir of life as well as a cure for ailments such as high blood pressure, heart disease, gout, gastric ulcer, allergies, etc. ("Prachachuen" Column, Matichon (Public Opinion) Daily Newspaper, February, 13, 2002)

Santol (Sandoricum koetijape Merr.)
Features Santol is a yellow tropical fruit that is round and plump having velvet-like hair. White flesh covers its seed. There are many strains of the fruit, each exhibiting unique tastes and qualities for wine production.
Properties Santol exhibits antidiarrhoeal properties (Nanthawan Boonyapraphat, Editor, Samoonpria. Mai Phuen Baan (Herbs…Common Plants) (2), Bangkok : Prachachon Co., Ltd., 1996). It contains tannic acid and high concentrations of antioxidants. Santol wine contains approximately 10 times the concentration of antioxidants than its Chardonnay counterpart. Note Antioxidants exhibit many properties, besides acting as an anti-aging agent, it prevents hardening of blood vessels, cancer, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

Noni or Indian Mulberry (Morinda citrifolia Linn.)
Features Noni or Indian mulberry is a medium-sized perennial plant having an upright trunk with smooth bark, and a height of approximately 3-8 meters. Inflorescence emerges from leaf nodes, its base being tightly compressed in a circular shape. It has white petals that join to form combined fruit, and a surface that resembles pimpled blisters.
Properties Global research studies have unanimously concluded that Indian mulberry fruit has many beneficial properties for the body such as being a blood supplement, activating antibodies, and controlling cell functions, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure, etc. (Levland, et al., Planta Medica 1979; 36 : 186-7). It has been discovered that Indian mulberry species found in Thailand contain 100% higher levels of the antioxidant scopoletin than that found in Hawaii. Doh-Mai-Rue-Lom or Elephantopus scaber Linn.
Features Doh or Doh Mai Rue Lom is a short – lived herbaceous plant having short stems and single serrated leaf blades with more pronounced hair growth on the surface thanon the underside, sides that are parallel or grade into a sheathing base, a width of 2 – 6 cm., and an alternate spiral arrangement. Leaves are usually spread out level with the ground. Inflorescence shoots out from mid-plant, their stems branching out into smaller minor flowers having clusters of purple petals, and hardened bracts support the stem base. Fruits are dry and unbroken.
Properties The whole plant is herbaceous that exhibits many properties, besides functioning as a diuretic and antipyretic, it relieves swelling, nourishes the heart, is an energy supplement, enhances libido, and prevents toxin-induced induced inflammation of the liver. Lychee
Features Lychees are grown on Lychee trees with dense, evergreen leaves. The fruit is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in size, oval to round in shape, and has a bumpy red skin. This fruit is only grown in sub-tropical climates, and originates in South China. Once you peel off the skin, the crisp juicy flesh of a lychee fruit is white or pinkish, translucent and glossy like the consistency of a grape. Its taste is sweet and wonderfully fresh.
